Len Barnes AAA Michigan Fund Award

Len Barnes was a 1943 graduate of the J-School and long time editor of the AAA Michigan magazine, Michigan Living. The award honors his career in travel and recreational journalism that has made Michigan Living among the most respected travel journals and a standard of excellence for others in the field. This award was established by the Auto Club Insurance Association.

The Don Caldwell Memorial Scholarship in Environmental Journalism

This Scholarship is administered by Michigan State University’s Knight Center for Environmental Journalism and is for an undergraduate or graduate student planning a career in science and environmental Journalism.

The Michael A. & Sandra S. Clark Scholarship

This scholarship is administered by Michigan State University’s Knight Center for Environmental Journalism for undergraduate or graduate students planning a career in science and environmental journalism.

Donald F. & Katherine K. Dahlstrom Scholarship

This scholarship is administered by Michigan State University’s Knight Center for Environmental Journalism for Master’s or Ph.D students planning a career in environmental journalism. Scholarships will be given for 1) A correspondent for Capitol News Service who has done outstanding reporting about the environment; and 2) an undergraduate or graduate student interested in teaching environmental journalism in the public schools.

Mickie L. Edwardson Endowed Scholarship

In Memory of James Lawrence Fly, this scholarship is administered by Michigan State University’s Knight Center for Environmental Journalism for undergraduate or graduate students.
