Michigan State University students can apply for scholarships to attend the Oct. 3-7 Society of Environmental Journalists national conference in Flint. The support is offered by the Cooperative Institute of Great Lakes Research.
Students at the nine universities that make up the cooperative are eligible:
Central Michigan University
Cornell University
Grand Valley State University
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
University of Minnesota-Duluth
Michigan State University
Ohio State University
University of Windsor
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The scholarship application deadline is Sept. 11. Hundreds of journalists, scientists and government and non-profit officials will attend the conference to learn about the nation’s and the region’s environmental threats and solutions and how to better report them.
